Fuzzy inside

Omg yesterday was so fun. It was the start of our 3-part *2 Kayaking course.

We were supposed to meet at the Kallang MRT station at 8.20. I was the 1st one there. -.- I woke up at 6+ so dat i could have time to bathe n all. Haziq said dat the train ride from Lakeside to Kallang was around 1hr. But when i was on the platform i looked at the board where it shows u from Lakeside to watever station the estimated time taken to reach that particular station. I looked at Kallang MRT station n guess what, 35 minutes!. So i reached Kallang at around 7.45 a.m. While waiting i thought that i would like, get some like snack to eat so dat i won't go hungry during the course.

The trip from Kallang MRT to Paddler's Gateway (where we were enrolled to go thru the course) was around 5-10 mins. It was quite a long walk n there was 1 part where we have to go under the underpass. It was a short underpass but the smell of saltwater under there was sooo strong. Bleaugh... Anyway, when we reached there there was also another school doing the Kayaking course. It was Yuan Ching Sec. The place was quite small. We were under the charge of two instructors, one named Eddy n the other i dunno what's-his-name. So he gave us some time to get rdy before we head off. Our stuff were kept inside tis big locker. The bottom part is where the PFD (personal floatation device) is hanged. The top part is where our stuff is kept.

This instructor then told us that we were to load the kayaks up onto the rack so that we can push it all the way to the shoreline. Fortunately the kayak is not that heavy n soon we loaded them all up. Heh, there was a massive amount of teamwork involved the intructors were pleased wif that. :D

Before disembarking, Eddy gave us a few pointers n a recap of what we learnt in *1 like how to get into the kayak n bla bla bla. Not long after we all got into our kayaks n did our revision n stuff. It's great to b able to ride in a kayak once again. Hee... The current wasn't dat strong, it was almost the sea(?) was still. We were then told to follow the instructors to a wide area so we would b able to practice a bit. After that we went around n under this bridge to this seafood restaurant building thingy. It was quite far but reached there after a few mins. This is sumting new taught to us: It's called a spray skirt. We have to wear the spray skirt 1st before wearing our PFD's. The use of this is to fit it around the cockpit. This is to prevent/minimise water flowing into the cockpit. And we have to attach the spray skirt up onto the chest area so dat wen u fit it into the cockpit n water were to spill, it will juz flow back out. It was quite difficult to fit the spray skirt around the cockpit coz u have to fit from the back round to the front. When u were about to finish, the back part would come off. We were then have to practice how to capsize (yuck). We were divided into two groups, Apple n Orange. An instructor for each group to assess what we learnt about capsizing in *1. I was the 8th person to b assessed. N i didn't pass! Like wtf, juz bcoz i missed 1 step ( feeling around the cockpit of the kayak which i think is not that important). Zzz...

It's going to b lunch soon, the instructor told us to row our kayaks towards Kallang Sea Sports club, which to my surprise, was another shore! (How many shores are there anyway? o.O) We were told to stop here b'coz it'll b lunch soon. We carried our kayaks n laid them in a line on the shoreline n our paddles inside the cockpits of each kayak. We took off our spray skirts n PFDs n placed them in a pile. My hands are like, all in pain coz of rowing n rowing n rowing.... endless rowing. Finally we get to stop at lunch. We exited the place for our lunch. During the way, there was a changing room. The boys were all showering n trying to get the sand out of their sandals. Basically a clean up. Some of the boys, like Zul, all soaked n so wet. We took one hell lot of time, wasted. Coz the instructors gave us like 45mins to eat our lunch.

We reached the food court soon enough. Tired of walking... But still, we all get to eat. Most of us ordered chicken rice from the nearby stall. It was a crowded place, since it's a weekend. We talked, we ate n joked. Me n James shared $10. The unfortunate thing is that the girls did not get to eat coz they did not bring any wif them. So they sat at a table n chatted while waiting for time to pass.

We reported back at juz precisely 1.40 pm. N rain juz started to pour on us. But luckily it was juz a passing cloud. We took shelter near Kallang S.S. The instructor gave a few pointers on the skills we were juz thought. I dunno what the skill name was. (Skarling, skaling?) Watever... Anyway, we put on our 2 equips n re-disembarked. The rest of the time we learnt hot to perform a low-brace n high-brace recovery. The two instructors oso made a short skit on how to perform a TX rescue. We have to listen to the key points very closely n made use of them, in the event of a real capsize happens. After a few practices, we headed on back to our shoreline, n it was soooo far away. N I paddled so hard yet it goes so slowly. N I kept going zig-zaggy. I thought i must've covered the longest distance. -.-" It was so tiring n my hands look like all bruised. But in the end i managed to reach my destination. One by one we carried the kayaks up onto the beach. We then carrie the kayaks onto the rack n pushed it all the way back. There was also foreigners, almost all of them are Eurasians. Supposedly they were from USA.

Once we reached back we were to clean all the kayaks, inside out. It was so fun . We all got wet n had fun cleaning the kayaks. The girls were instructed to clean the PFDs n spray skirts. We had to clean the kayaks. The cleaned kayaks have to be put back onto their respective places. Not long after we finished all our tasks. The Chinese boys left 1st, left us only the Malay guys n the girls. Mamat bathed there. The rest of us went to National Stadium to bathe. It was a 10min walk, according to Eddy. They sang metal n made a lot of noise in the shower. Haha. Zul went crazy. He went to every cubicle n banged open trying to disturb us showering coz the locks in every cubicle were broken. So we had to shower with a broken cubicle lock. Dam Zul. So after we all finished our shower Zul was the only one left still. So we sabo-ed Zul n payed back. We kicked open the door Zul was in. XD So hilarious.

We left around 6. Dam the stadium is soooo wide! The field is kept trimmed n short. It was drizzling but the moment we stepped out of the stadium it wasn't drizzling anymore. We noticed the girls were waiting for the bus at the bus stop. We took bus 16 n alighted near Raffles City. The girls went on to Bugis. We took the MRT back from City Hall. James stopped at B.B. We planned on going to Food Culture to eat at Lot 1. I ate curry chicken rice. Weird thing is, the curry given is sooo much, in one big bowl. Maybe possible to drown my whole rice in curry. I wasn't able to finish the curry. And there's still so much left! Meh, we then to the arcade, belanja-ed by me. I had $12 in my tapz card so y not, we played Daytona n this shooting game called Wartran Troopers, if i'm not wrong. After a fulfulling time playing, we left Lot 1 in happy moods. :D

I'm looking forward to next week's kayaking.

Everyone felt happy yesterday. "wat la wat la"

Surely I can't let my blog rot like that right?

I finally have the time to blog, w/o he others looking at wat i type n feel embarassment. Common test has ended, ny i still have the exam fever. T_T Argh. Many things have happened already, so far the most eventful is on Ryan's B'day. We went to watch FD3 at West Mall along wif other 10 ppl :Helmi, Aiman, Haziq, James, Idham, Aidil, Muz, Fareez, Fadhly n Ryan.

It was cool. The movie dat is. I feel bad though for the 2 girls who burnt to death. Their deaths were the only ones dat was slow n painful.

Anyway, after dat we went to BK to eat. I reached around 9 (very late). And then went to make a new pair of specs.

Jee... I thought I have a lot of things to say... Oh well.
